QuickBooks Setup Β· Corpus Christi Β· South Texas

The file is on one computer and nobody knows if it is backed up

QuickBooks holds everything about your money and it is usually the least looked-after system in the building. One machine, one copy, no tested backup, and a multi-user setup nobody has touched since it was installed.

We do the technical side and work with your bookkeeper. We are not accountants and will not pretend to be.

Where we stop and your bookkeeper starts

We handle the technical layer: install, versions, multi-user, the file, backups, performance, and connecting it to your other systems. Chart of accounts, categorization, reconciliation and tax treatment belong to your bookkeeper or CPA.

When we find something that looks like an accounting problem, we tell you and hand it to them. Guessing at that costs you more than the setup did.

The two problems we see most

The company file lives on somebody's desktop, has never been backed up in a way anyone tested, and would take the business with it if that machine died. Fixing that is usually a same-day job.

And the same data gets typed twice, out of the point of sale or the job system and into QuickBooks by hand. That is often connectable, and it is where the hours actually go.

What we actually do

Install and migration

New installs, version upgrades, and moving a company file to a new machine without losing history.

Multi-user done right

Hosting configured so several people can work without the file locking or corrupting.

Backups that are tested

Automatic, off the machine, and verified by actually restoring a copy.

Performance

Files that have grown slow over years, usually fixable without starting over.

Integrations

Point of sale, job and payment systems feeding QuickBooks instead of somebody retyping every invoice.

Desktop or Online

Straight advice on which fits you, including when staying on Desktop is the right call.

Frequently asked

Do you do bookkeeping?

No. We handle the technical side and work alongside whoever does your books. If you do not have anyone, we can point you at local bookkeepers, but we will not do the accounting ourselves.

Should I move to QuickBooks Online?

Depends. Online is easier to reach from anywhere and back up. Desktop is faster on large files and some industry features only exist there. We will give you a straight recommendation for your situation rather than push the subscription.

My file is huge and slow. Do I have to start over?

Usually not. Slowness is often the file needing maintenance, or the hosting setup, or the machine. Starting a new file loses history and is a last resort.

Can several people use it at once?

Yes, with the right licensing and hosting configuration. Done wrong it locks users out and can corrupt the file, which is the situation we get called into most often.

Is my company file backed up right now?

If nobody has restored from it recently, treat the answer as no. That is the single most common gap we find and it is the one that can end a business.
