Get found by Google — and by the AI everybody asks instead

A lot of your next customers will never see a list of ten blue links. They ask ChatGPT or Google’s AI a question and take the answer it gives them. We make sure your business is something those machines can actually read, so it ends up in the answer instead of nowhere.

We run a directory of thousands of local pages ourselves. It’s where we proved this out before selling it.

Search changed. Most local sites didn’t.

For twenty years, getting found meant ranking in a list. Somebody typed “plumber Corpus Christi,” Google showed ten results, and you fought to be one of them. That still matters. But it is no longer the only door.

Now a lot of people open ChatGPT, or Perplexity, or the AI summary sitting on top of Google, and they ask a question in a full sentence. The machine does not hand back ten links. It hands back one answer. If your business is not something that machine can read and understand, you are not in that answer — and you will never see the traffic you didn’t get.

Here is the part most people miss: the assistants are not guessing. They read websites, business listings, and structured data. When your hours live inside a picture, your phone number is a graphic, and your site never says plainly what you do or where you do it, the machine has nothing to work with. It moves on to a competitor whose site it can read.

What we actually do

Structured data markup

The invisible labels that tell a machine “this is a business, here is the address, here is the phone, these are the services, these are the hours.” Most local sites have none of it. It is the single biggest gap we find.

Consistent listings

Your name, address, and phone identical everywhere a machine looks. Mismatches between your site, your Google profile, and old directory entries make you look like three different companies.

Pages that answer questions

Real service and city pages written in plain language that answer what people actually ask. Assistants quote clear answers. They cannot quote a slogan.

Google Business Profile

Set up, categorized correctly, and pointed at the right phone number. Wrong category is a quiet killer — it decides which searches you are even eligible for.

Crawlability & speed

Clean sitemap, no dead ends, pages that load fast enough that a crawler gets through all of them. Boring, mechanical, and it is why sites get read or skipped.

Proof you can check

We show you which machines read your site and how often — Google, Bing, ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, by name. Not a dashboard of vanity numbers. The actual crawl log.

How we know it works

We did not read about this in a webinar. We built npclocal.com — a Coastal Bend services directory of thousands of pages covering hundreds of categories across the local cities — and we instrumented it so we can see exactly which machines read it and when.

What that shows us, month after month:

Two honest notes. First: that is our own property, not a client result — we are showing you the method working on the site we control, because we would rather prove it than promise it. Second: those reads are attention, not sales. What they show is that a site built this way gets read, and getting read is the part you cannot skip. Want the actual current numbers? Ask on the callback and we will pull the live logs up on the screen.

If you want to see the raw logs on the callback, ask. We will pull them up.

How a typical project works

  1. Callback & look. We pull up your site, your Google listing, and what a machine currently sees when it reads you. Free, no commitment, and you get the findings whether or not you hire us.
  2. Straight answer. We tell you if this is a one-time cleanup or an ongoing fight — including when the answer is that you do not need us monthly.
  3. The mechanical work. Structured data, listings, page fixes, profile setup. Most of it lands in the first couple of weeks.
  4. Content where it matters. Real pages for the services and towns you actually want calls from. Written plainly, because that is what gets quoted.
  5. Show the logs. You see which machines started reading you and how often. If nothing moves, you will know from us before you have to ask.

What we won’t tell you

We will not promise you the number one spot. Google and the AI companies decide rankings, not us, and anybody guaranteeing a position is either lying or about to do something that gets you penalized.

We also will not sell you a monthly retainer you do not need. Plenty of small businesses here need one solid cleanup and then nothing for a year. If that is you, we will say so, do the cleanup, and leave you alone.

What we will do is make your business readable, correct, and consistent everywhere a machine looks — and then show you the evidence of what changed.

Frequently asked

What is AEO, and how is it different from SEO?
SEO is getting your business to show up in a list of blue links. AEO — answer engine optimization — is getting your business into the answer itself, when somebody asks ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, or Google’s AI summary something like “who does commercial roofing near Corpus Christi.” The assistant doesn’t show ten links. It gives one answer. The work is different: instead of chasing keywords, you make your business machine-readable, so an assistant reading your site comes away with correct facts it can repeat.
Can you guarantee I’ll rank number one?
No, and you should walk away from anyone who does. Google and the AI assistants control the ranking, not us, and their rules change. What we control is whether your business is readable, correct, and consistent everywhere a machine looks. That’s the part that actually moves, and it’s the part most local businesses have never had done.
How do you know this works?
Because we run it on our own site. We built and operate npclocal.com, a Coastal Bend services directory of thousands of pages, and we instrumented it so we can see exactly which machines read it. The AI assistants — ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity — pull from it constantly, as heavily as the traditional search crawlers do, and the volume keeps climbing. Those are our numbers on our own property, not a client result, and we’ll show you the live logs on the callback.
What does the work actually involve?
Structured data markup so a machine knows what you sell, where, and how to contact you. Consistent name, address, and phone everywhere you appear. Service and city pages that answer real questions in plain language instead of marketing filler. Google Business Profile set up and categorized correctly. A clean sitemap and fast pages so crawlers can get through them. Boring, mechanical work that almost nobody does properly.
Do I need a new website first?
Usually not. Most of this can be added to the site you already have. If your current site is a single page built in 2011, or the phone number only exists inside an image, then yes — we’d rather build you something clean first. We’ll tell you straight which case you’re in on the callback.
How long before anything happens?
Technical fixes — structured data, listings, page speed — get picked up within days to a few weeks. Ranking movement on competitive local terms takes months, and it depends on how much competition you have. Anyone quoting you a date is guessing. We’d rather under-promise and show you the crawl logs as they change.
Is this a monthly contract?
It doesn’t have to be. A lot of small businesses need a one-time cleanup and nothing more. Ongoing monthly work makes sense when you’re actively competing for terms somebody else is also paying for. We’ll tell you which one you need, including when the answer is “you don’t need us monthly.”
Do you do this for businesses outside the Coastal Bend?
This particular work is not physical, so yes — it can be done anywhere. But our local knowledge is South Texas, and a lot of the value here is knowing the towns, the competition, and how people actually search around Corpus, Alice, Kingsville, and Beeville. If you’re outside the area, call and we’ll be honest about whether we’re the right fit.
