Ransomware protection

Ransomware doesn’t just encrypt your files — it goes after your backup destination too. Our offsite backup uses immutable versioned snapshots that ransomware can’t encrypt or delete from the compromised machine. If you get hit, we restore from a clean snapshot from before the infection. Real recovery, not a nervous email to IT.

What it costs

From $150 a month for a location, plus storage by the gigabyte. Storage is cheap now, so for most businesses the base fee is the number that actually matters.

It is priced per location, not per computer. Most of the sites we back up have a NAS on site, and that is what we build around. We can do per-computer backup if that is genuinely what you need, and we will quote it, but we do not lead with it — per-machine plans mean buying a third-party service for every seat, and those vendors raise the rate once you are locked in. Charges to move your data, charges to pull it back out, monthly charges just to keep holding it. You should not have to pay a toll to get your own files back.

How often do backups run?
Default is hourly incremental + daily full for servers, and daily for workstations. We can tune it tighter for shops that can’t afford to lose an hour of work.
Do you test the backups?
Yes. Most backup horror stories are “we had backups but they never actually worked.” We do scheduled restore tests so you know the backup is good before you need it.
Is the data encrypted?
Yes. AES-256 encryption in flight and at rest. Only you and your authorized techs hold the decryption keys.
